Accomplishments Academy uses a multi-dimensional educational method that
consists of digital learning and interactive activities based on the common
core standards. This approach is aligned with the learning styles of a
student with High Functioning Autism and ADHD. The approach consists of:
Daily lessons of the core curriculum: Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Computer Technology. A structured, yet welcoming classroom environment. Opportunities for meaningful interaction with peers. Encouraged independent effort. A low student-to-teacher ration that provides more one-on-one time, individual attention, and increased student involvement. A Health/Fitness program, A Healthier Me, that focuses on a healthier lifestyle by moving more and maintaining a balanced diet. Weekly specials of Art, Music, and PE. Personal Education Goals that helps student feel more accountable for their success as well as plan for transition. A Character Education Curriculum that focuses on nurturing friendships, building high esteem, anti-bullying, social emotional learning, and positive attitudes. Daily interaction with Behavioral Mentors that provide positive role models, establish weekly behavior expectations and goals, and promote positive conflict resolution. Student led mini groups that establishes a classroom community and responsibility. Weekly celebrations of unique National Holidays that stimulates unity and cultural awareness. |
